Tips for a restorative holiday weekend⏬ 1. Get Tips for a restorative holiday weekend⏬

1. Get to sleep at a decent hour😴 You are excited to be with friends and family but you must prioritize sleep to feel good the next day. I won’t drink and still have a next day hangover if I stay up too late.

2. Cut your alcoholic beverages with water or make a mock tail🍸Reducing your alcohol intake has a huge affect on your mood, energy, and overall wellbeing.

3. Balance your plate🍲 Holiday weekends are always filled with snacks and sweets. Balance your plate with protein, carbs(veggies) and fats to feel full and reduce sugar cravings.

4. Bring your own sweets 🍫 Desserts are always abundant but they are filled with refined sugars and carbs that make me feel like crap. By bringing my own sweets I am able to enjoy in the communal experience without sacrificing how I feel.

How did you prioritize yourself last weekend?

Prioritize yourself💃🏼 Let’s say you have Prioritize yourself💃🏼

Let’s say you have 15 minutes before you need to get ready to leave, you can either off load the dishwasher or squeeze in some movement. What do you choose to do?

If you chose the dishwasher you are not prioritizing yourself! The dishwasher can be unloaded later. If you don’t move your body then the day will pass and then another day and another and now you haven’t moved your body in weeks!

This is a dramatic scenario but one that I see often as well as have experienced myself!

If you want to see change you MUST put yourself first! This is how you grow consistency. It’s okay to be selfish when it comes to your health. WE ONLY GET ONE BODY.

In one year I lost 12.5lbs of fat 💪🏼 Yet, t In one year I lost 12.5lbs of fat 💪🏼

Yet, the scale only went down 5lbs 🧐

I have lost weight and gained weight, I have lost muscle and gained muscle, I have lost fat and gained fat. This all has happened during my journey of finding out what movement, nutrition, and lifestyle works best for my body.

If I had given up the first or second time I saw the scale go up (even though I was working so hard) I would never have been able to see the results I see today.

Body composition analysis breaks down your weight into fat, protein, minerals, and body water. Analyzing your body composition helps you determine where changes are happening. This is where you are able to pinpoint habits that are working and habits that may not be right for you body.

It should be used as a tool to not shame your body but to learn what nutrition, movement, sleep habits and other lifestyle modifications your body benefits from the most.

Message me if you have any questions about body composition ☺️
